print making project

print that i made

Reflecting at the end of the course.

I started off the year thinking this would be a easy class and i would be fine. which as we started i was fine but challenges came as the year went on i struggled with severial projects but found a way to make it work. There were times i didn't want to do art at all but when i came to class it changed based on what we were doing. I really enjoyed doing the different projects but the drop everything and draw not so much. But now I'm starting to see why we did that and wat use it had. I really enjoyed this class and i think i ended on a good note i am honbestly going to miss this class but walking up the steps to get here not so much. i have learned a lot through out the year and will use it as i continue to draw and make art.

Self Portrait as a cougar on a bus.

I choose a cougar because it is fast, very active, cool, and it is a very good example of me. I choose to put it on a bus because its some place that myself or a cougar would not be done, also it would look cool. Lastly the different texture i choose would make the front be different from the back and the the left side different form the right. I really enjoyed doing this project.

Me-scape: A Reductive Block Pri -scape: A Reductive Block Print

This project was mostly about process.
Many people struggled with the process.
How did it go for you and how do you feel about the resulting print or prints you made? What was challenging about the process for you, if anything? What would you do differently if you were to do it again?

  • The challenge for me was to get the prints to be layered equally, and to cut out what i don't want was hard because i kept getting the colors in there. I would have carved it out more detailed.

Thinking about the use of light in art

What is the potential for light to be symbolic in a work of art?
  • The lighting in art work could bring out the little details, it could give the picture a new look, it could also provide the picture with different reactions and views. i think that the lighting in on a stage is also symbolic because it causes people to focus on what is being showed.
What could it symbolize and why?

  • I think lighting in art could symbolize importance, shading, and details that the picture has, also the lighting on a stage in the performing arts is also important because it causes people to focus on different things. That's why i think lighting in any art is important and cool.
