I started off the year thinking this would be a easy class and i would be fine. which as we started i was fine but challenges came as the year went on i struggled with severial projects but found a way to make it work. There were times i didn't want to do art at all but when i came to class it changed based on what we were doing. I really enjoyed doing the different projects but the drop everything and draw not so much. But now I'm starting to see why we did that and wat use it had. I really enjoyed this class and i think i ended on a good note i am honbestly going to miss this class but walking up the steps to get here not so much. i have learned a lot through out the year and will use it as i continue to draw and make art.
I choose a cougar because it is fast, very active, cool, and it is a very good example of me. I choose to put it on a bus because its some place that myself or a cougar would not be done, also it would look cool. Lastly the different texture i choose would make the front be different from the back and the the left side different form the right. I really enjoyed doing this project.
Many people struggled with the process. How did it go for you and how do you feel about the resulting print or prints you made? What was challenging about the process for you, if anything? What would you do differently if you were to do it again?
The challenge for me was to get the prints to be layered equally, and to cut out what i don't want was hard because i kept getting the colors in there. I would have carved it out more detailed.
What is the potential for light to be symbolic in a work of art?
The lighting in art work could bring out the little details, it could give the picture a new look, it could also provide the picture with different reactions and views. i think that the lighting in on a stage is also symbolic because it causes people to focus on what is being showed.
What could it symbolize and why?
I think lighting in art could symbolize importance, shading, and details that the picture has, also the lighting on a stage in the performing arts is also important because it causes people to focus on different things. That's why i think lighting in any art is important and cool.
Well when i look at my finished project I get this feeling of satisfaction, because i know that i was really able to express and show people and things that are important in my life. I feel that by finishing and doing this project it shows people another side of me that i don't normally talk or mention. Through out the process of completing this project I was kind of worried that it would not come out the way i pictured it. But with the help of Ms. Roberts and Mr. Brooks i was able to get my ideas down and still follow Ms. Roberts outline. I have to say following the outline was the hardest part and really putting everything i wanted into it. I went through several sketches in my sketch book before i found one that I really enjoyed and the went along with the outline. Some of the strengths of my art work would be the organization, and the way i wanted things to go. A weakness was following the outline but i think i did a really good job at sticking to my idea and also changing it to fight the outline. I also allowed more of my family, and culture to be shown through this piece because i drew the flag really big, and i also put the all the pictures of my family. I wasn't really trying to show my love for sports because most people know that's one thing i do love and i do, so i was trying to put things that i normally don't show or talk about. But at the end of the project i felt happy with what i did and how it came out.
I really enjoy this peace of work because i find the details on the bee hive, and on the jacket of the animal to be really closely done. I enjoy looking at art work that has many small details because it makes you look and really think about the artist and the story or message there trying to tell. This picture reminds me a little bit about the cavemen. which is one thing i find interesting.
my question for Alexander is: how many try's does it take you to get to a finished project that you really like?
